The first CaRE! Conference will take place on the 11-12th May 2017 at the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland.
Our aim is to honour the authors of articles published in ICAR by allowing them to present their projects in public. A possibility of giving a public speech during a conference is important to young conservators for a number of reasons: it teaches oratory skills, familiarises speakers with the stage environment and it is also a valuable addition to authors’ account of academic achievements.
Another pillar of the concept of the conference is a discussion panel on publishing of academic research in peer-reviewed journals and public presentations. We invite for speakers experienced professionals involved in academic teaching, writing and reviewing articles. In this part of the conference the audience takes part in the discussion by asking questions to our speakers.
On the second day students and academic staff from the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw will present their latest projects under a general topic “Honouring the Past, Entering the Future”. This part of the conference will be accompanied by a poster session.
